Lakeside Legacy featured in Michigan BLUE Magazine

Passion. Integrity. Timeless design.
This is what we stand for at Joseph Philip Craig Custom Homes. Our business is built on a strong family foundation that’s 40+ years strong.

We are very pleased to announce that our Lake Living home is featured in the most recent issue of Michigan BLUE Magazine. We collaborated in the building of the property, the landscaping, and the design which is typical to our entirely custom design build process. Every home we create is 100% unique.

Northern Michigan vacations provided the inspiration for the 12,700-square-foot residence’s architectural choice, a relaxed Shingle style that unifies the design inside and out.

Designed by Brian Neeper Architecture and photographed by James Haefner Photography, this property celebrates Michigan made craftsmanship in a beautiful setting.

The professional landscaping was done by David Cracchiolo of Northern Impressions and the interior design was completed by Tina Cracchiolo of Interiors by Craig & Company. It was truly a family effort to bring this home to fruition!

We would also like to acknowledge that there were many valuable contributions to this project. So many amazing people and companies joined together to create this home – please see the final page of the article for details.

We are grateful that we are able to bring dreams to life and create spaces that will bring memories for years to come.

This lakeside shingle style home serves as a comfortable setting for large family gatherings. The architectural design employs two flanking four-car garage wings that act as retaining walls to create a level motor court entry into the main level. Traditional cottage style interiors are designed to provide a casual and comfortable feel, with the familiarity of past vacations to northern Michigan. The exterior design takes cues from traditional American shingle style architecture in an original composition of rustic stone and shingle siding. The architecture is symbolic of the strength of tradition, and anchors the retreat for this client’s legacy.

A Pourfect Day

We are so excited to share this behind the scenes look at our custom construction process! It was truly a “Pourfect Day” as the amazing crew was hard at work earlier this week, moving and pouring concrete for this modern farm house where we also installed a radiant floor heating system.

There’s a lot of coordination to make this happen and it was really fun to watch this process come together at this property in Oakland County, Michigan. This fun video was filmed and produced by the talented Caffeine Soul Productions and offers some great insight into what actually goes on. This cement pour has to be perfect as we install the radiant heat system so attention to detail is critical at this step in the construction process. We are passionate about what we do and love sharing moments like these.

Joseph Philip Craig Custom Homes wants to thank everyone who is involved with helping us to lay this solid foundation:

Joe Brzuchanski at Caffeine Soul Productions

Giovanni Bugli and his talented team at Metropolitan Concrete Corporation.
